LGBTQ+ friendly Provincetown hosts a variety of exciting summer events each year. Start your summer at Ptown Pride (June 6-8). Parties, a Pride market, tea dances, comedy shows, and poetry readings are just part of the diverse offerings taking place this year
At the Provincetown Film Festival (June 11-15) enjoy a great selection of narrative, documentary, animated features, and short films from emerging filmmakers to established veterans.
Music lovers can head to the Outer Cape Chamber Music Festival (June 24) where world class musicians will gather for this exciting new summer music series hosted by the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. Cellist and Artistic Director Joseph Gotoff leads the series.
Craving some pastel de natas? Want to pretend you booked a flight to Portugal this summer? Provincetown’s Portuguese Festival (June 26-29) will transport you to Lisbon with tradition dance, dress, and food.
Men of Color Weekend or FROLIC Weekend in Ptown (June 18-23) hosts a week of brunches, social mixers, pool parties, club nights, beach takeovers, panel discussions, and more. This event attracts over 1,000 men of color from all over the world for fun in the sun.
July in Provincetown is a jam-packed month featuring big events, fun afternoons, pool parties, and much more. Bear Week (July 13-20) is an annual celebration that brings bears and bear-seekers alike to Ptown’s beaches and bars. According to Ptown Tourism, every day there are three to four pool parties, an afternoon tea dance, two night parties with varying themes. You can also enjoy organized beach outings, shopping at the Bear Market, and strolling through the gallery district.
Girl Splash (July 23-26) is one of the town’s biggest summer events featuring live performances from music to comedy, lesbian beach outings, whale watching tours, dune buggy rides, sailing, and parties galore. This is a wonderful celebration that attracts women from all over the USA.
Ptown also hosts the “largest gathering of LGBTQ+ families in the world” for Provincetown Family Week (July 26 – August 2). This week, bring the family to enjoy a range of activities, including a tween and teen dance, workshops, yoga, family pool parties, an ice cream social, and parade.
Stick around for GLAD’s (GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders) annual summer party, or The Center for Coastal Studies’ Whale Week in early August. Catch the Provincetown Art Association and Museum’s annual Secret Garden Tour, which welcomes hundreds of visitors every July for a self-guided journey through Provincetown’s private residential gardens.
Also in August, attend the Provincetown Jazz Festival (August 12) at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, or grab some friends and pile into the car for a trip to Provincetown’s Carnival (August 16-23) where this year’s theme is Summer Camp and tens of thousands of attendees flock to attend parties, events, and costume contests.
