Early this month, MSC Cruises unveiled the new MSC World America, the largest ship in the company’s history.

MSC World America is a 22-deck cruise ship that will dock regularly at a brand new terminal in PortMiami. After a naming ceremony featuring actress Drew Barrymore, the ship set off for a three-night inaugural trip to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the company’s Bahamas-based private island, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The ship will travel along the Eastern or Western Caribbean, taking guests to destinations including the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Honduras, and Ocean Cay. Trips will last one to two weeks on average. This ship is also special in that it’s “tailored specifically to the U.S. market,” according to MSC.  And it’s clear MSC took America’s “go big or go home” attitude to heart. The latest addition to the company’s fleet is impressive, featuring six pools, 14 hot tubs, a water park with virtual reality features, three entertainment venues including a theater, a comedy club, and more.

Families are welcome aboard to enjoy ship features like The Harbour, an outdoor venue which features an over-water swing ride, ropes courses, a water park and playground, relaxation areas, and complimentary grab-and-go dining.

World America also offers a shopping experience that ventures further than standard cruise ships. World Galleria, the ship’s official shopping mall which features shops, restaurants, bars, and lounges where guests can share meals, make new friends, and buy gifts for family and friends back home.

Dining on board is an experience unto itself with six specialty restaurants offering everything from steak to sushi to tacos, along with four restaurants offering American classics. Add to this two buffets for easier dining, fast-food pizza and burgers, and the New Sports Bar which boasts wings, sliders, and multiple screens for game-watching (and this is just one of the 20 bars and lounges on board!).

There seems to be endless ways to spend your days aboard World America, and MSC is making sure travelers have plenty of exciting options.
