Ritter was honored this month at the inaugural Travel Unity dinner at the ILA Penthouse & Rooftop Garden, New York. “I am truly honored to be recognized by Travel Unity as an advocate for inclusive travel,” said Stacy Ritter. “This award is a testament to the work of our whole team and community who believe that the power of travel can bridge divides and build understanding. Diversity is one of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s strengths, as people from more than 170 countries speaking 147 languages call Greater Fort Lauderdale home. Greater Fort Lauderdale is also Florida’s LGBTQ+ capital, welcoming more than three million LGBTQ+ visitors every year.
Ritter, at the helm of Visit Lauderdale since 2016, has been a transformative leader, championing travel experiences that welcome everyone, irrespective of their background, ability, or identity. Her visionary leadership includes numerous initiatives aimed at ensuring that Greater Fort Lauderdale is not just a destination, but an inclusive community that warmly embraces all travelers.
Among her many achievements, Ritter spearheaded the successful “Everyone Under The Sun” campaign which highlighted the area’s commitment to welcoming travelers from all walks of life, celebrating their stories, and showcasing the many experiences available in Greater Fort Lauderdale. Her initiatives have turned Greater Fort Lauderdale into a model of inclusivity, paving the way for destinations worldwide to follow suit.
