The World’s Best Airports

Airports are not all created equal. Some are easy to navigate, comfortable to spend long layovers, and are well-equipped with all your pre- and post-flight needs. The Skytrax World Airport Awards has ranked the top airports internationally for you to fly into or out of on your next big trip.

Winning the top spot for 2023 is Changi Airport in Singapore. This is one of the busiest airports in the world, accommodating around 85 million passengers a year, according to a 2019 report from Business Traveller.

Changi has always been among the world’s top airports, first winning the honor of world’s best airport in 1988, and Changi has only elevated its passenger experience with new terminals and expansion in world-class shopping, dining, and easy efficient flight, security, check-in and boarding services.

Coming in at second place is Doha Hamad Airport in Qatar. This airport is known for it’s shopping and culinary options, but it also has expansive offerings in luxury spa and wellness treatments. A layover here could easily turn into a rejuvenating spa day.

In third and fourth places are Tokyo’s Haneda and Seoul Incheon. In Tokyo, Haneda’s three busy terminals also serve up to 85 million passengers a year. This airport has been the main gateway to and from Japan for over 60 years. In Seoul, Incheon has won one of the top spot for best airport in the world for its sleek and modern design, comfortable lounges, and range of shopping and dining experiences across two terminals.

Number five is the only airport in the western hemisphere on the list, and you may be surprised to find it’s Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport. CDG is equipped with duty free luxury shopping and dining, as well as  digital corners, gaming hubs, comfortable lounges and more throughout the airport.
