The 46th annual Provincetown Carnival Week is rolling into the famous LGBTQ+ friendly Cape Cod town this August. One of P-town’s largest queer celebrations is back with a record number of carnival events and an amazing theme: Renaissance x Revolution.

Running August 17-24, attendees can expect a jam-packed week of festivities including, a Carnival Parade down Commercial Street on Aug. 22 and a performance from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16 runner-up and classically trained opera singer Sapphira Cristál, at Renaissance Ball.

The 46th annual Provincetown Carnival Week, August 17-24, is presented by the Provincetown Business Guild (PBG) and is one of the largest LGBTQ+ celebrations in the US and the largest event on Cape Cod. This year’s theme Renaissance X Revolution invites attendees to reflect on change, inspiration, art and challenging norms.

“We have never been afraid to challenge the status quo and reshape the world through our imagination. In this country’s current inflection point, it’s important to celebrate this power and remember: We are our own renaissance,” said Trevor Pittinger, executive director of the Provincetown Business Guild, in a press release.

“This speaks to Provincetown’s history as the oldest continuous artist colony, a home for revolutionary thinkers, and an oasis for LGBTQ+ folks,” Pittinger continued. “We couldn’t be more excited to showcase the fusion of these ideas with parades, floats, events and entertainment.”

Other events to look forward to throughout the week include, a 5k run/walk on opening day, a party cruise with DJs, full cash bar and specialty cocktails, an opening night costume party and contest, a pool party, and much more.
