How a community embraces sexuality and self-expression is constantly in flux around the world. In some cities, LGBTQ+ people might feel free to express themselves, and in others, it may threaten their lives. A new report has revealed the most “sexually liberated” cities around the world, and you can visit them to put each to the test. These are the most self-expressive cities in the world where you can embrace your identity according to global research from Erobella.

The report incorporates data from multiple categories to render the final ranking. This includes the number of gay bars, presence of anti-discrimination laws, legality of gender-affirming care, number of LGBTQ+ events, access to contraception, and legalization and protection of sex work.

    1. Amsterdam is famous for its Red Light District, cannabis cafes, and gay bars. The city features 28 LGBTQ+ venues, 23 adult venues, six significant LGBTQ+ annual events, and anti-discrimination and abortion protections.
    2. San Francisco has a whopping 67 LGBTQ+ venues and 11 annual events, protections for abortion, discrimination, and gender identity, and 26 adult venues throughout the city.
    3.  Cologne, Germany features 17 annual events that celebrate LGBTQ+ communities and plenty of adult and LGBTQ+ venues that create safe spaces.
    4. Vancouver, Canada is home to a variety of LGBTQ+ venues and events, protections for these communities are strong, and adult venues are plentiful.
    5. Lisbon, though home to fewer venues overall, is a great city for LGBTQ+ self-expression. In Portugal there are ample protections for LGBTQ+ communities, including gender identity, anti-discrimination, hate crimes, censorship, adoption, and more.
    6. Berlin. It’s no surprise this famous metropolitan is home to 57 LGBTQ+ venues and 44 adult venues where people are open to explore themselves, their identities, and their sexualities quite openly.

Also making the list for most “sexually liberated” cities this year were Manchester at number seven, Hamburg at eighth, Vienna in the ninth spot, and Barcelona in tenth place.
