‘The White Lotus’ Announces Location For Season 3

After months of rumors, hit HBO series “The White Lotus”  has confirmed its season 3 filming location: Thailand.

Season two of Mike White’s dramedy, which came out in October 2022, drove troves of tourists to the far corners of Sicily, making last season’s destination, Taormina, a hotspot in 2023. So it’s safe to say, the show’s chosen filming locations have some clout with culture seeking travelers.

According to CNN, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and HBO announced the show was scheduled to begin filming this month in Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui. The corresponding season of the show is expected to air some time in 2025.

In the 2023 Emmys, the dark comedy received 43 nominations and 15 wins for everything from music composition and acting to editing, writing, and hairstyling.

Because both former seasons of the show were filmed at Four Seasons hotel destinations, fans have speculated that this season will be filmed at yet another Four Seasons location in Thailand. CNN reports the Koh Samui Four Seasons location has no availability between February and the end of March, perhaps indicating it will host the cast and crew, and act as the new season’s primary backdrop.

Thailand’s “exotic and natural beauty, rich historical sites and diverse landscapes are the perfect settings to share our fascinating culture, fantastic cuisine, top-notch wellness and luxury offerings and most importantly our people and Thai hospitality,” said Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, in a press release.

HBO also announced a cast list for the third season which includes season one cast member Natasha Rothwell, along with new additions including Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul and more.
