The USA is still reporting over 100,000 new COVID cases every single day, and many people around the world have yet to receive a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, so hotels are beginning to see the value in requring that their quests be vaccinated. While some say doing this could limit the number of people who wish to stay in these hotels, others see it as a way to attract guests, offering them a safe space that reduces their chances of contracting the virus while traveling for work or on vacation. In a recent Forbes article, they report that 61% of Americans are now in favor of vaccine mandates for travel, so it’s likely more hotels will require them, and potentially even busses and airlines.

Here’s a list of some hotels that are requiring guests to be vaccinated:

Highgate Hawaii operates numerous hotels throughout Honolulu. Recently, the brand came out and announced that starting October 15th all guests will need to be fully vaccinated. The hotels under this brand include:

    Alohilani Resort Waikiki

    Aston Waikiki

    Park Shore Waikiki

    Ambassador Waikiki

    Pearl Waikiki

    Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki

    Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki

Starting October 1st, Elite Island Resorts will be requiring everyone over 18 to be vaccinated. The brand operates properties throughout the Caribbean, including Antigua, Panama, Barbados, and more. Resorts that will be requiring vaccines are:

    Galley Bay Resort and Spa

    Hammock Cove

    St. James Club and Villas

    Pineapple Beach Club

    Verandah Resort

    St. James Club Morgan Bay

    Club Barbados

    Palm Island Resort

    Los Establos Boutique Hotel

With how hard New York got hit early in the pandemic, it’s no wonder that hotels and resorts want to enforce vaccine mandates to keep their guests and employees safe. Furthermore, it’s also important to note that NYC has recently launched a vaccine mandate for most indoor gathering places, including restaurants, gyms, and theaters. If visiting NYC, it’s important to get vaccinated first. Here are some properties in the city that are requiring vaccinations:

    Equinox Hotel

    Wythe Hotel

    Public Hotel

Urban Cowboy Lodge (in the nearby Sullivan Catskills)

In the popular southwestern town of Santa Fe, the Ten Thousand Waves resort and spa is requiring all guests to be vaccinated, including those who are visiting for the day to recieve a spa treatment. The resort’s website states, “We believe that the COVID vaccine is necessary for the well-being of our staff, our guests, and society in general. We are therefore requiring vaccination for guests and staff.”
